Hit a New Low

I have hit a new low this afternoon. I turned my computer on my desk toward my bed so that I could surf the internet while I lie down on my bed. Some say that it is laziness but I say that it is smart thinking.

I really have nothing to write about even though it has been a few days since my last post. Mostly, I have been staying around the house enjoying being bored with very little to do. In the next few weeks, I will probably be begging for this kind of boredom so I am enjoying it while I can.

Sunday I will be heading east with some friends to Washington D.C. for the first time since I was there in the summer of 2005. Other than hanging out with some really good friends, I think I am most looking forward to being in our nation's capital with comfortable weather. I won't miss the heat and humidity on this trip.

For now, I will get back to my laziness (smart thinking) but I will leave you with an inspirational quote from a recent basketball practice. Enjoy!

"There is no way that in 2007 with everything that is available to women along with having the ability to drive us men crazy, that you girls can't jump higher than two inches for a rebound!"

A New Post with a New Computer

It has been a while since my last post but it has not been without a reason. My laptop keyboard is, for lack of a better term, practically dead. One day, it just stopped functioning correctly.

Every time I would hit the 2 key, the Caps Lock would turn on. Every time I would hit the T key, the number 4 would magically appear. Lastly, every time I would hit the Backspace key, the File option would highlight.

Since I was already planning on paying for a new computer (and considering the fact that the laptop is pretty old by today's standards) I decided to go ahead and purchase a new one. It has a wide screen and more memory than I would ever know what to do with. So if you are a Dell sales rep just perusing blogs this evening, I am most satisfied with my recent purchase!

So, what has been going on in my life these past few weeks? Not a whole heck of a lot really. Mostly, I have been just doing my normal summer thing of trying to get in better shape and drinking lots of McAlister's Iced Tea. I know that sounds like order a Diet Cola with three Big Macs but if you ever tasted the sweet tea then you would understand.

Also, I am going to begin my new position as Varsity Boys Tennis Coach at Tipton this next week. I am very much excited to be coaching tennis again and cannot wait to get started.

This evening, we had our first team/parent meeting. It went very well and it was wonderful meeting the players and parents. From the look of things, the season is going to go very well. We've got a lot of experienced players who want to do well and we also have some youth on the team as well which will give us a good mix when the matches start in a few weeks.

Well, that is all that is happening right now! I will be sure to keep you updated on the happenings with the team. Have a good one!

My Parents: Buyers of Toys

Normally, I would post a video of inspiration on the evening before a game but I thought I would take this opportunity to do something a little different. Although, I am happy to report that we are riding a two game win streak! Can you believe it?!

As insomnia is taking its course tonight, I can remember having conversations recently with my friends about how kid's today have the best toys with computers and the internet. Much of the time, we envy the kid's of today because of this but we always look back on our young years as the good ole days of Sega Genesis and Boom Boxes.

The video that I have posted is dedicated to the things that made those childhood years great: my toys. Also, it is dedicated to the people who bought me most of those toys: my parents.

I even remember one time that my dad was in such a hurry to get us down to Toys 'R' Us in Indianapolis that he got pulled over. Thank you guys! This commercial is for you!
