Friday Night Lights

How sweet it is. Even though it has been a few years since I was in high school, I still get excited every Friday night during the football season. This is because, in high school, the football game is where anything can happen whether it on or off the field.

While each team is fighting for position, tackling, and running on the field, the same kind of emotion can be felt from the other side of the fence. In it's own unique way, a soap opera is taking place.

Boyfriends and girlfriends are breaking up and getting back together (and breaking up again if your name is Kyle), friends are making plans for the evening after the game, and every student (whether they admit it or not) wants to know exactly who is there.

A lot of time has past since I graduated from my high school, however, around 5 pm on a fall Friday evening I still get goosebumps. When the sun is in the midst of setting and there is not a cloud in the sky, I think back to the old days of the high school football game.

Great Conversations

I had some great conversations today!

This afternoon, I was lucky enough to have a very spiritual conversation with my good friend from high school. I can not believe that I hadn't seen him in three years until today. Time really does fly by and I think I've been losing touch with what is really important in life. I've allowed myself to become so wrapped up in what I'm doing that I just forget to notice even the littliest of things.

I would really like to thank him for the conversation we had tonight. It helped clear up a few anxieties and questions that I've been pondering over the last few years.

What was also great about today is that I was able to not just talk but listen to what others had to say. I think that is one of the greatest things that any of us could ever do for one another. In these days of craziness, I think we all sometimes forget how to listen.

Thank you so much to everyone I got to chat with today. You have given me great things to think about and reflect upon.

How Sweet It Is

With a new day brings about a new day of going to class. However, unlike most students, my last class begins at 11:30 am. Ah, how sweet it is. It just doesn't get much better than this.

Today, I am really excited because I'm going to be having dinner with an old friend from high school whom I have not seen in over 3 years. Should be pretty interesting especially since we are going to Texas Roadhouse. Gotta love their rolls!

For some reason, it feels like Friday. I actually wish it was since I'd be able to watch my Hoosiers the next day. They are 3-0 and if they are able to contain the Wisconsin running game then they should have a good chance of beating the Badgers. Have a great day and enjoy the opponent fast fact.

My First Posting

I finally have a blog. This blog will try to give you insights straight from the Office of the President. Please keep checking back for updates.

As usual, it was my long day of classes. Each time it gets tougher and tougher because by 5:00 pm I can't even see straight. No matter, the conversations and the people I get to see everyday make things well worth being at school all day.

Tonight was a typical Wednesday evening. Nothing beats an evening of Texas Hold 'Em with the guys at Starbucks. I was lucky enough to break even this evening. I want to send a special shoutout to my DC buddies for teaching me how to play cards the right way. You know who you are.

Well, that is enough for me. Take care!
